CELTIC have become frustratingly silent over the past six months. Only coming out when they fell the pressure is so great, they can’t ignore it.

The rest of the time they leak dribs and drabs to media pals to let the Celtic fans know what’s going on.

It appears to be the case again, people at the club are putting out their narrative through different vessels.

The Athletic are reporting their Celtic source has confirmed the club were ‘blindsided’ by Neil Lennon’s press conference – the publication writes:

The Athletic was told the club were blindsided by Lennon’s remarks. One source says they felt it undercut the message they were attempting to convey last Wednesday during chief executive Peter Lawwell’s apologetic video to fans — where he admitted the trip was a “mistake” and the “outcome regrettable”.

You do only have to look at Celtic’s social media to come to that conclusion yourself. Neil Lennon’s interview appears nowhere on the club’s channels, and the usual youtube upload of the full press conference is nowhere to be found.

Behind the scenes must be tense, considering this season has been an unmitigated disaster.

To be honest, if Peter Lawwell thinks his contrived apology sufficed, then he deserves to be blindsided. One thing the CEO didn’t do was create new headlines and whip up a storm, that’s what Neil Lennon has done defending himself and his players.

Again, the Celtic manager made some good points but he also came to some awful conclusions during the presser.

Where do we go from here? Well, Livingston, after that, what happens is of great interest to the Celtic support. January review anyone?

  1. WHO ?? or WHAT …does our club have as P.R..representation to officially relay the club.s information to supporters/ STH./ S.H./ and save us from the embarrassing gibberish recently by st peter and lenny ,

  2. Exactly-story would have died out before Lennon decided to prolong the agony and give the Dubai fiasco fresh legs.
Even worse, he gets into nonsense blaming the Govt for singling out Celtic when it turns out it is our own incompetence through the seating arrangememts that caused 13 players to have to self-isolating!
Beyond embarrassing now-at least Broonie had the savvy to steer clear yesterday.
