Oh Hyeon-gyu is catching the eye across Europe after a blistering start to life at Beşiktaş.

The former Celtic forward has hit the ground running in Turkey, scoring seven goals in his first 10 appearances since arriving from KRC Genk in February.

That form hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Clubs across Europe, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, are now monitoring the 25-year-old’s progress. [Turkiye Gazetesi]

It’s a rapid rise.

Oh showed flashes of his potential during his time at Celtic, but consistency proved difficult to maintain in Glasgow.

Now, he’s delivering on a bigger stage.

His performance levels have surged and he’s quickly become a key figure in Beşiktaş’ attack.

He also made his mark in Europe earlier this season, scoring against Rangers in the Europa League, while at Genk, and arguably could have had more on the night in a 1-0 win.

Despite the growing interest, Beşiktaş are in a strong position.

Having only signed him months ago, they are under no pressure to sell and won’t let him go cheaply.

But if his current form continues, keeping hold of him may become increasingly difficult.

Sometimes, it just clicks elsewhere for players and that seems to be the case for Oh.

Celtic, meanwhile, will need to enter the market for a striker this summer.

  1. seems like Celtic have some problems noticing talent, OH, the young defender playing great at Braga, the Polish defender, Palma. looks like someone needs to pay a bit more to the scouting. you need to pay more attention as anytime I try to post you say I have already said that.
