Robbie Keane’s reported interest in the Celtic manager’s job has brought another familiar face into the spotlight.
According to the Daily Record, Stephen Glass is one of the people Keane would like to bring with him if he is appointed at Parkhead.
The former Aberdeen manager worked alongside Keane at Ferencvaros, where he served as his assistant. If Keane gets the Celtic job, it would make sense for him to turn to someone he already knows and trusts.
Glass has built up coaching experience in several different roles over the last decade.
After working as Stephen Kenny’s assistant at Shamrock Rovers, he moved to the United States and joined Atlanta United. He coached in the academy before taking charge of Atlanta United 2 and later spending time as interim manager of the MLS first team.
His spell as Aberdeen manager is the role most Scottish supporters will remember.
Glass arrived at Pittodrie in 2021 but struggled to get consistent results. Aberdeen were sitting ninth in the Premiership when he left the club less than a year later following a Scottish Cup defeat to Motherwell.
He later returned to America to manage Memphis 901 before eventually linking up with Keane in Hungary.
That record means supporters would likely have mixed views if Glass arrived at Celtic as part of a new coaching team.
At the same time, assistant coaches are often chosen because of existing relationships rather than their own managerial achievements. Keane and Glass have already worked together and know how each other operate on a daily basis.
Nothing has been decided yet, with Martin O’Neill also still in contention for the Celtic job.
But if Keane is ultimately given the role, Glass looks set to be one of the key names to watch.

We need a manager with vast experience in Europe, a proven winner, not a rookie who happened to do well for 18 months with a little Hungarian team. If that’s the criteria then Askou was a far better choice. Dermot Desmond is still showing the same lack of interest in Celtic that almost destroyed the club this season. I think it’s high time he stepped down and let someone with more ambition and less ego take over. The old Mafia-type running of the club with Dermot Desmond as the Godfather must end if Celtic are to move into the 21st century. No more wild card appointments of managers (largely Irish) and cheap deal players. Something far more ambitious is now warranted and that starts with a proper successful manager with a track record of success.
I don’t like his personality. He’s hard to listen to. He’s got no charisma. No humour. No warmth.
He’s got to follow Martin O’Neill. He’s doomed to fail.

Give the job to Martin O’Neill living legend.
If they don’t appoint O’Neill and O’Neill wants the job. I’ll be so disappointed.
