Celtic’s manager search remains unresolved more than two days after Robbie Keane reportedly met with the club.

Keane has been heavily linked with the job this week, while Martin O’Neill remains in talks after guiding Celtic to the Premiership and Scottish Cup double.

Reports have suggested Dermot Desmond has spoken with both men as the club weighs up whether to go with continuity under O’Neill or move towards Keane as a longer-term appointment.

The lack of a decision is now starting to attract attention.

Journalist Alan Nixon has now offered a short update after being asked about the Celtic situation.

He said: (X), “It’s been over two days since met Keane … so the delay is a puzzle …”

That comment adds to the sense that Celtic’s process is not moving as quickly as some expected.
