Robbie Keane’s reported talks with Celtic have dominated discussion around the club’s managerial search, but another detail from the latest report may be just as intriguing for supporters.
According to SunSport, Keane would like familiar faces alongside him if he is appointed Celtic manager.
While Celtic have yet to make a decision on their next permanent manager, the suggestion of Brown returning to the club is certain to attract attention.
The former midfielder remains one of the most popular figures of the modern era. Brown captained Celtic through a hugely successful period and has since moved into management, taking charge of Fleetwood Town after spells with Aberdeen and Ayr United.
Hayes also has strong links to the club. After returning to Celtic in a coaching capacity, he has been working within the football department while continuing to develop his coaching qualifications.
The pair were spotted in Hungary earlier this year watching Keane’s Ferencvaros side in action, a visit that was largely viewed as part of their coaching development at the time.
Recent reports have now placed that trip under a different spotlight.
There is no suggestion the visit was connected to Celtic’s manager search, but supporters may look back at it with renewed interest given the latest claims surrounding Keane’s plans.
For now, the focus remains on who will ultimately be handed the job.
Martin O’Neill remains under consideration after leading Celtic to the Premiership and Scottish Cup double, while Keane is reportedly among the leading candidates being assessed by the club hierarchy.

However, the possibility of Brown and Hayes returning to prominent first-team roles would add another layer to the conversation.
Whether Keane becomes Celtic manager remains to be seen. Yet if the latest report proves accurate, he may already have a clear idea of the people he would want around him should he find himself in the Parkhead dugout next season.

No no no no way. This man (Keane) has demonstrated his complete lack of a moral compass. All Hell will break loose if Celtic appoint this zionist sympathiser. He can’t be described otherwise as he chose, CHOSE, to manage a team in Israel during the current genocide. Knowing full well some of his team’s players and fans served and continue to serve in the IDF.
Now imagine, for one minute, that Celtic had appointed a manager in the 1920s who had managed a team full of ex black n tans with a black n tan fan base. And that those same players and fans of such a team had murdered many times more than they actually did in Ireland. Would you have been fine with that?
Celtic fans are not required to support a Palestinian state and nor should they be. They don’t even have to hold any political views. They can just be a Celtic supporter.
If you feel so strongly about your politics spend your Saturdays doing something really worthwhile related to that.
Jesus Christ can unite the Catholic fan base. To the Green Brigade. His peace that flows from heaven is always calling you home.
Be perfectly united.
As Paul appeals to the Corinthians : “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
P.S Give the job to Martin O’Neill and God bless him. Icon.
