Celtic have been credited with interest in Rodez attacker Taïryk Arconte after his standout campaign in Ligue 2.
The 22-year-old enjoyed the best season of his career, scoring 14 goals and adding three assists as Rodez pushed into the promotion play-off places with a fifth-place finish.
According to Foot Mercato, Celtic are among the clubs keeping a close eye on the forward, with Millwall and Auxerre also named as interested parties.
Arconte’s form has naturally brought attention. He finished among the leading scorers in France’s second tier and has seen his stock rise sharply over the past few months.
The Guadeloupe international is under contract with Rodez until 2028, so this would not be a simple deal to do. Rodez are in a strong position and will know there is a market building around one of their main attacking threats.
For Celtic, the attraction is obvious. Arconte fits the type of profile the club should be looking at early in the window: young, productive, quick, and still with room to develop.
The Hoops have had mixed success in this sort of market, but when they get it right, the rewards can be huge. A player with pace and end product is always going to appeal, especially when Celtic need more attacking options capable of changing games.
But it does place Celtic in the conversation for a player whose numbers in Ligue 2 have made him difficult to ignore.
With Arconte tied down long-term and interest growing, Rodez could find themselves at the centre of a proper summer battle if that admiration turns into firm bids.
