Reo Hatate was in from the start at Ibrox on Sunday after he changed the game the week prior.

At 2-0 down in the league encounter between the two, Martin O’Neill needed to make some changed and he did.

The introduction was one of the changes that swung the game in Celtic’s favour. He pulled the strings from the middle of the pitch and allowed the Hoops to dominate at Ibrox.

It was one of the best performances we had seen from the midfielder in a long time, looking like his old self.

And his display earned him a starting spot in the team that faced Rangers in the Scottish Cup.

Again, he was so good in the middle of the pitch, looking composed and like his usual, classy self.

When he stepped up to take that penalty, a few hearts must’ve been in the mouth. But he struck it cleanly and shrugged after it.

He missed his spot kick last week and the first rebound, but made no mistake in the shootout this time around.

It was no surprise to see him named in the SPFL Team of the Week. Hopefully, he can kick on and leave the poor run of form he’d had to endure behind him now.
