While the wait goes on for the club to announce any official incomings, there have been reports that the Celtic B captain is set to make a permanent move to Premiership strugglers Livingston.

David Martindale’s side sit four points adrift at the bottom of the table and are already looking to make plans for next season, possibly with one eye on life back in the Championship.

Mitchell Robertson, who is a product of the Celtic Academy, is one player who looks set to make the move to West Lothian in the summer, according to the Daily Record. He’s currently on-loan at Inverness in League One and has impressed throughout his 19 appearances as they sit second and look like strong promotion contenders.

It’s reported that he will see his loan deal at the Highland club out until the end of the current season. The 20-year-old has already shown promise for the future, and whether Livingston remain in the top flight or return to the Championship, this seems like a good move to further his development.

Opportunities for academy players to break into the first team these days are, unfortunately, rare. Dane Murray, who is currently part of the senior squad, has featured this season but has found his game time limited due to the club looking for more experienced options.
