Pat Bonner believes the Scottish Premiership title race is far from settled and says he cannot wait for the post-split run-in, with Celtic still very much in the mix.
The Hoops face a demanding run before the league splits, starting with a midweek trip to Aberdeen to fulfil their game in hand.
That is followed by a crucial home clash against Motherwell, who are hot on Celtic’s heels in fourth place.
Back-to-back away trips to Tayside then await, first against Dundee United and then Dundee, before Celtic close the pre-split schedule with a home match against St Mirren.
Once the league divides, Celtic will welcome both Rangers and Hearts to Parkhead, fixtures that could define their season.
While the title is no longer entirely in Celtic’s hands, there is nothing to suggest any of the leading sides are capable of finishing the campaign with a flawless run.
Sunday’s dramatic comeback draw at Ibrox could yet prove pivotal in that context, keeping Celtic within touching distance as the pressure mounts on all involved.
Bonner said to the BBC: “This is not over. There’ll be so many twists and turns yet in the last nine games of this season.
“I can’t wait until the split comes because all those teams at the top are capable of taking points off each other. You really don’t know which way it’s going to go.”
With momentum swinging weekly and margins increasingly fine, Celtic’s path to the title remains steep but, as Bonner insists, far from closed. Hopefully, this can be a turning point for Celtic.
