Chris Sutton has given his take on Celtic’s 2-1 win over Hibernian at Easter Road, with the result taking the Hoops level on points with Hearts at the top.

It was not straightforward. Celtic had long spells on the ball, especially after Hibs went down to ten men early on, but still let the game drift at times.

Daizen Maeda’s goal had them in front, but a lapse around a set-piece let Hibs back into it before half-time. From there, Celtic had to stay calm and keep working the ball.

The moment came in the second half. Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench and showed sharpness in the box to take his chance and win the game.

Sutton watched it play out and picked up on both the goal and the mistake earlier in the match.

The win puts Celtic level with Hearts, although they have played a game more. Attention now turns to Tynecastle, where Hearts face Rangers.

Celtic showed two sides to their game. When the tempo was right, they pushed Hibs back and created chances. When it slowed, Hibs found a way back into it.

The equaliser came from that drop. A free-kick in a wide area, a ball into the box, and a failure to deal with it.

That is where the frustration will be. Not the chances created, but how the goal was given away.

Still, the reaction was there. Celtic stayed on the front foot, kept the pressure on, and found the goal they needed.

Three games remain. The gap is tight. Wins like this, even when not clean, keep things alive.
