Chris Sutton summed up the madness of Celtic’s dramatic win over Motherwell perfectly after Martin O’Neill’s side somehow escaped Fir Park with all three points.
For long spells, Celtic looked second best.

Motherwell pressed harder, won more second balls and caused problems every time Celtic tried building attacks from deep areas. The home side deserved their first-half lead through Elliot Watt and even after Daizen Maeda’s equaliser before the break, Celtic still never really looked fully comfortable.
Benjamin Nygren’s stunning strike early in the second half felt like it might settle things.
Instead, Fir Park became chaotic again once Liam Gordon equalised late on. Celtic suddenly looked nervous, passes became rushed and Motherwell sensed another huge moment in the title race was coming.
Then came stoppage time.
Auston Trusty won the decisive penalty after pressure inside the box and Kelechi Iheanacho stepped forward with the title race hanging completely in the balance. The striker stayed calm and drilled the penalty low into the corner to hand Celtic a massive 3-2 victory.
That goal changes the picture entirely heading into Saturday.
Instead of chasing goal difference from behind, Celtic now go into the final league game of the season knowing a win over Hearts at Celtic Park would deliver the title. Hearts still sit one point clear after beating Falkirk 3-0, but the pressure now swings directly onto one final afternoon in Glasgow.
Sutton had watched the entire drama unfold live on commentary before reacting online after full-time.
That’s mental as anything… Celtic didn’t deserve it but huge result. That goal changes everything. Balls of steel from Iheanacho 🍀👏👏

There was honesty in Sutton’s reaction because Celtic were far from convincing for large periods.
Motherwell exposed defensive gaps repeatedly, especially when transitions opened up through midfield. Celtic struggled badly during the opening half hour whenever the game became physical and loose.
But this Celtic side have started finding moments again.
Maeda keeps producing huge goals. Nygren delivered one of the strikes of the season under pressure. Iheanacho showed nerve that had been questioned at different points since arriving.

Now everything moves to Celtic Park.
After weeks where the title looked beyond them, Celtic suddenly have the chance to take it back themselves in front of a home crowd on Saturday afternoon.
