Celtic remain firmly in the hunt for this league title but the numbers show they still have work to do.

According to Opta’s latest projections here are each team’s chances of lifting the league trophy: [Shown on Sky Sports’ live broadcast]
- Hearts – 75%
- Celtic – 24%
- Rangers – 1%
Rangers are effectively out of it and this is now a two-horse race.
And the next round of fixtures could be decisive.
Celtic host Rangers next Sunday in a must-win Glasgow Derby, especially given they’ve yet to beat them in the league this season.
On the eve of that big match in Glasgow, Hearts travel to face Motherwell, a side that has already shown they can produce big results, winning at Ibrox just last week.
Hearts’ record against Motherwell this season is mixed:
A 3-3 draw, a 0-0 stalemate, and a 3-1 win.
So there’s no guarantee there.
That’s where Celtic are hoping for an opportunity.
Win the derby and suddenly the pressure flips.
If both sides continue to win, though, it sets up a dramatic final day.
Hearts travel to Celtic Park and it could come down to goal difference.
Celtic may need to win by multiple goals to take the title. It could be a nervy, nailbiting end for fans.
All attention now turns to next weekend.
