A video clip from Celtic’s win over Aberdeen has begun circulating online showing the moment Toyosi Olusanya caught Kieran Tierney with a stamp during the match at Pittodrie.
The incident has drawn fresh attention because Tierney was later forced off during the second half. Celtic are now waiting to discover the extent of the defender’s foot injury, with concerns growing ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Rangers.

The challenge happened when Tierney moved toward a loose ball near the touchline. Olusanya arrived late and his boot came down on the Celtic defender’s foot. Tierney reacted straight away and needed a moment before getting back to his feet.
On the pitch referee Nick Walsh produced a yellow card. VAR quickly checked the tackle but did not intervene. Play continued and Tierney carried on for a spell before eventually being substituted later in the game.
The clip now being shared online shows the contact clearly. Olusanya’s foot comes down on top of Tierney’s boot rather than catching him higher up the ankle. That detail often affects how officials judge these situations, with contact on the foot usually falling into the reckless category rather than serious foul play.
For everyone moaning about Nygren’s onside goal…

Still, the timing of the tackle has added another layer to the discussion. Tierney had already made a strong impact on the match before going off. His forward runs from left-back forced Aberdeen to retreat at times and helped Celtic stretch the pitch.
The defender even opened the scoring earlier in the night, arriving inside the box to finish and give Celtic the lead. Aberdeen later equalised through Kevin Nisbet from the penalty spot before Benjamin Nygren settled the match with the winning goal.

Attention has now shifted to Tierney’s condition. The Scotland international limped off late in the game and Celtic will assess the foot over the next couple of days.
With Celtic visiting Rangers this weekend in the Scottish Cup, the timing is far from ideal. Tierney has been central to how Celtic build attacks down the left side. If he cannot recover in time, Martin O’Neill may need to reshuffle the defence for one of the biggest fixtures of the season.

Horror tackle!!!!!!!! saw this originally. And saw it was done on purpose. It’s serious foul play.
Var must huv flagged this up As ‘abnormal use of boot’ by use of studded surface’ as its rightly banned.
Sheep player over extended his step, stood on Kt’s ankle, and you can clearly see how deep Kt’s boot. went into tha turf.
How those idiots at Var never saw that, is beyond comprehension.
They must of had their apron’s over tha monitor.
