Celtic have been handed a £30k fine alongside Aberdeen for their players breaching strict Covid rules at the start of the season.

Boli Bolingoli has since left the club on loan after he left the club hierarchy furious by taking an unsanctioned trip to Spain.

The SFA have decided a fine for the club will suffice with only £8k of the the £30k fine payable right now with the rest suspended and only payable if there’s a further breach.

Celtic had two games postponed back in August when their defender took a very short jaunt to Spain and have been playing catch up in the SPFL. Thankfully, having played one of those postponed games, Celtic are now one point off the top with a game in hand. That game is against Aberdeen and might not be able to be squeezed in until next season.

Boli Bolingoli’s Celtic career looks over and you’d have to imagine the fine imposed will be covered by the player being fined by the club.
