Celtic and The Rangers have both been fined £7500 by the SFA for the incident straight after the Glasgow Derby which was instigated by Ibrox Player Andy Halliday.

Having just lost, the player lost the plot and marched towards a celebrating Scott Brown in an aggressive manner. When he tried to get to Scott Brown the Croc captain smiled at him while Scott Bain held him off and then players came together to try and stop what was going on.

No Celtic player or coach raised their hand out of anger or tried to retaliate under provocation with even the Ibrox back up goalie Wes Foderingham pushing Celtic players in the aftermath.

The SFA decided to put both teams in the same bracket and fine both the same amount. It’s a pretty shocking and futile decision.

There was only one man sent off in the aftermath of the game and that was Andy Halliday. Scott Brown’s hearing admonished him of any wrong doing yet the club have been fined. At least the SFA are consistent.

Here is the full description of the fine:

Disciplinary Rule 204 – Where three or more players and/or members of Team Staff from one team are involved in a confrontation with opposing players and/or members of Team Staff of the opposing team during and/or directly after a match.

Principal hearing date: Thursday 2 May 2019

Response date: Wednesday 10 April 2019

Outcome: Proved. £7500 fine.
