Celtic have already had one festive fixture brought forward this month with the Ross County game moving from 7:45 pm to 6 pm at the request of Ross County.

Now the game between the Scottish Champions and Dundee Utd on December 30 will kick off at 3 pm instead of the scheduled 7:45 pm KO.

With no fans inside the stadiums and no expected changes to the tiers in Glasgow before the new year, TV and clubs are a bit more flexible when it comes to kick-off times.

When you don’t have to take supporters into account, getting to and from games, then there’s greater flexibility.

The move from Dundee Utd will likely be because of the late night travel back to Dundee. It affords their players more time back home going into Hogmanay.

Celtic wanting the change will be to get the game done and dusted so they can get prepared for their trip to Ibrox on January 2.
