Not many Celtic fans will thank me for reminding them Jonjoe Kenny had a short spell at Celtic last season.
The right-back was horrible during his time at Celtic. Costing goals and genuinely looking out of place in a side full of underperformers.
The defender left Celtic Park at the end of last season with no chance of anyone at Celtic wanting him to stay on a permanent deal.
To his credit, Jonjoe has picked himself up from that disappointment and got some game time with Everton this season.
Everton faced a Boreham Wood in the FA Cup on Thursday evening. Frank Lampard decided he would finally give Nathan Patterson his debut for Everton after an expensive move from Glasgow in January.
The Scottish international lasted just 45 minutes before being hooked.
As quoted by RecordSport, Frank Lampard suggested Nathan wasn’t doing what was being asked of him.
“It wasn’t necessarily a slam on Nathan Patterson, it’s not a nice on a debut; I thought he did ok.
“But from the way we were playing with our wing-backs I wanted him to break that line and he wasn’t, it allowed them to sit back, so the formation change helped us.”
Jonjoe shined in the match and ended up with an assist on the night as Everton seen off the Nation League side 2-0 in the end.
It’s one to forget for Patterson! The Scotland fans out there will be concerned the player’s lack of game time and progression could ultimately hurt the national team.
Why worry about game time as he didn’t have much game time at the Rangers but he was still picked before others who were playing every week
