Albian Ajeti was on the scoresheet for his new club Strum Graz at the weekend as they defeated Austria Wien.

The Swiss striker opened the scoring in his second start for the club which has taken them to second place in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.

Ajeti is currently still under contract at Celtic until the summer of 2024 with Strum Graz having an option to buy the 25-year old at the end of his loan spell.

He arrived in Glasgow during the summer of 2020 but failed to make too much of an impression to show the worth of his price tag.

Celtic shelled out £5 million for the former West Ham man who was undoubtedly bought to play along with another striker which didn’t work out.

Many Celtic fans were glad that the club managed to get Ajeti out the door with the forward likely to have been one of the top earners at Celtic Park.

He made a small contribution under Ange Postecoglou last season when he bagged a brace against Ross County at home but following that there was no consistent spells in the team with Postecoglou ultimately not fancying him.

Hopefully the goal at the weekend will get Ajeti going to bag more goals this season. The more he impresses in Austria will make it easier for Celtic to be able to sell the forward permanently next summer which will be the best outcome for both parties.
