Liel Abada’s return to light training is great news for Celtic fans ahead of the Glasgow Derby semi-final.

Reports suggest that the Israeli winger isn’t being considered for the upcoming Motherwell game on Saturday, but he could be in line to make a return to the squad for the Scottish Cup Semi Final, which is just a week away. [SunSport]

Abada has been out with an injury since the last international break, and his absence has been felt by the team. The player’s future has been the source of much debate since before he was sidelined, with many speculating that he could be on the move this summer.

When it comes to Glasgow Derby games, Liel Abada loves to get in the thick of it. He has scored some memorable goals since signing for Celtic and has quickly become a fan favourite. Having the winger back in the squad for the Hampden tie would be a massive boost for the team. Although it’s unlikely that he will get the full game, he could give Celtic the last 30 minutes or extra time if the game comes to that.

Celtic are currently chasing a treble, and Ange Postecoglou and his team will be determined to finish the season strongly.

Of course, Celtic must first negotiate their way past Motherwell on Saturday before the full focus can go onto the cup game. It’s a game that Celtic should win comfortably, but as we have seen many times before, anything can happen if you take your eye off the ball.

If Celtic do progress to the cup final, they will likely face either Falkirk or Inverness.
