Journo Confirms How Many Players Celtic Will Sign

Journalist David Friel has provided an update on how many signings he believes Celtic will make before the end of the transfer window.

Friel, known for breaking Celtic stories over the years and with a strong track record, revealed that three signings look certain. However, a potential fourth could also arrive once players move out the door.

The Scottish journalist also named the exact positions he believes Celtic will recruit in before the September deadline.

He said: (The Scottish SunSport YouTube), “I think they’ll definitely bring a goalkeeper, left back and central midfielder and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s one more in a certain area but I think there’ll be a couple go as well.

“I think the Hatate will eventually go as well. Johnny Kenny, there’s a lot of interest, again he was on the bench last night.

“I think he would go so it would be another three out but I think there’s scope for I think a minimum four signings.”

It’s an update that will excite supporters and matches much of what Martin O’Neill has been saying in recent weeks.

With Celtic 3-0 up on aggregate against LASK in the Champions League play-off ahead of the second leg on Tuesday, signings are set to follow after the return fixture.

A potential place in the Champions League league phase could see even more quality additions brought in: a goalkeeper to compete with Viljami Sinisalo, a left-back believed to be Landon Emenalo once he shakes off a knock suffered in training at Chelsea, and a midfielder to replace Arne Engels, with Niko Sigur and Gvidas Gineitis both heavily linked in recent weeks.

The question is what the final area could be. A left winger has previously been reported as being on Celtic’s shortlist, with Adrian Blake linked.

However, supporters may view another central midfielder as a strong addition, potentially paving the way for both Gineitis and Sigur, or even Ermin Mahmić, who is believed to be under consideration by Celtic.
