GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS is set to miss Celtic’s trip to Hampden later this month. The striker has suffered an injury to his knee and as a result, undergone surgery.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed this, as quoted by The Sun he said;

“He had to have a clean out of his knee. So he’ll be about two, three weeks.”

The Greek striker has not had the best start to his Celtic career, only starting twice as a result of Kyogo’s superb form but also due to fitness and injury problems.

Although, despite missing a crucial penalty which resulted in the hoops dropping points at home to Livingston, he has been impressive, especially when he came on from off the bench in Hungary. He held up the ball really well and lifted the pressure from the defence, something Kyogo can not do due to his build.

Celtic will be looking to strengthen the forward position in January with the alternative to Ajeti, and to be totally honest, he is normally an empty shirt.

Let’s hope this won’t be a recurring problem for the former VVV Venlo player.

  1. Why are so many of our players out for SO long? When Rogic gets injured, seems to out for a month at a time, Jullien almost a year now, And lets not even mention Mikey ‘Sicknote’ Johnston
