CELTIC look to have given up their pursuit of Trevor Carson for the time being after Motherwell rejected their second bid of 400k.

Brendan Rodgers was keen to get his compatriot in as a backup to Dorus de Vries but the 750k that ‘Well are looking for seems steep for someone who will become Celtic’s third choice keeper in a matter of months.

They are now looking at other options with Dundee’s Scott Bain being spoken about. The goalkeeper is currently on loan at Hibernian but it’s believed if Celtic were to make a formal transfer offer Dundee would be able to sell.

However, Dundee manager Neil McCann has no knowledge of any bid yet for the goalkeeper and has nothing new to say on Jack Hendry.

“I’ve just heard that was the situation. I can honestly say I don’t know. If you asked me about Jack Hendry as well I can’t give you any answers.” MCCANN ADMITTED.

Could Celtic do a double Dundee swoop.
