The Celtic Trust and one of its custodians has again implored the Parkhead suits to consider giving supporters shares instead of refunds.

Our own inbox has seen a swathe of supporters looking for guidance on any potential refunds for this season. Season ticket holders were asked to pay full price this season, but this was under the club’s own view we’d be back in the stadium before December 2020.

Nobody is due a refund as the new terms and conditions don’t allow it. However, given the season we’ve had and the money we’ve paid, it would be sensible of the club to keep fans onside.

David Low, of the Celtic Trust believes a share issue where the club give shares to season ticket holders as a form of added value and refund without taking money out of the club.

“Due to Covid, it’s a very difficult time for the whole sport and as Celtic fans we’ve had a very disappointing season. We want to help retain cash within the club and encourage season ticket sales for next season.” Low told RecordSport.

“We want to start next season in as strong a position as possible and our proposal helps achieve that objective.”

A lot of Celtic fans took up the option of a refund last season when the fixtures couldn’t be fulfilled.

Would you be happy with shares in the club as some form of refund.

The Celtic trust are all about fan representation and believe the way to do so is through building up shares. This idea would likely see their shares grow, but doesthe club really want to see that happen?

  1. Nope. The club have stuck their fingers up at me this year. The online product has been as bad as the on pitch product, so I want my money back. The millionaires that have broken the club can dig into their own pockets for once.
