Celtic have failed to make the breakthrough in the first half but have shown promising glimpses in attack. They’ve not looked like they’re going to concede but they must do better in the final third.

A good save denied Jullien from taking the lead when Turnbull put a great ball into the box from a set-piece.

Celtic fans are looking for goals and confidence in this team but you can tell this is a side still playing without a swagger. Edouard could have also taken the lead and should have done better when the ball fell to him inside the box, he hit it well wide though.

The anxiety among the support is still there as this new look midfield try to make things happen.

One thing Celtic fans were wondering about after the starting XI came out was Laxalt’s status. The left-back is on the bench and Greg Taylor has come back in.

Speaking to Sportsound before the game, Neil Lennon confirmed the Uruguayan has a slight injury.

“He’s had a slight foot problem but it’s nothing too serious, and Greg is a very able accomplice in that position, and he’ll know the opposition well.

“Odsonne , we want him back in the team, I thought Patryk [Klimala] had a fine game the other night, but he’s our main man, and he’s played well in the last couple of games.”

We need to get a goal early in this second half or the same kind of feeling sinks in and the players could then make mistakes.
