CELTIC have confirmed the signing of Jusip Juranovic subject to international clearance.

The Croatian defender has signed a five-year deal with the club and could go into the squad as early as next weekend.

Celtic’s hunt for a right back is finally over and the emergence of Anthony Ralston and his form has been a welcome and surprising boost too.

Jusip flew to Glasgow on Friday – passing his Celtic medical and signing his deal.

After the Glasgow Derby next weekend the players will break up for international duty and the defender is due to fly out to join the Croatia team.

It’s yet another piece of the puzzle for Ange Postecoglou as he looks to compete on all fronts this season.

Juranovic can’t be registered for the Europa League second leg play off but can train with the bhoys next week.

Hopefully it won’t be long before he’s contributing. It’s not a forgone conclusion that Jusip will dislodge Ralston straight away, they could timeshare the position given the number of games Celtic will be playing.

We are absolutely delighted to be bringing Josip to the Club and we are sure he will be a great addition to the squad.

Ange had these words for the Celtic website after signing the international defender. “As I have said before, everyone at the club has been working hard to add to our squad and we have made good progress. I am really pleased to bring Josip in to support the rest of the boys.

“We have so many challenges ahead of us and Josip will add important quality and depth. I am really looking forward to working with him.”

Onwards and Upwards.
