Mohamed Elyounoussi has handed Celtic a major injury boost by declaring he’s ready to go for their next run of fixtures.

It was thought the midfielder injured himself during a Norway training session but the on loan Southampton star revealed he picked up the injury during Celtic’s 5-2 win against Hibernian at the start of the month.

By the time he reported for international duty, the midfielder was feeling the effects and his country told him to rest.

“I actually picked up the injury against Hibs in the Betfred Cup semi-final.” Mohamed told SunSport.

“Then I had to go with the national team and it didn’t really have enough time to heal.

“So we had a look at it and it was decided I needed a rest. But I think it will be all right.”

Elyounoussi has become a big part of the team since coming in and has done his bit to land some major results for the bhoys. To have him going into the next Europa game and cup final will be vital.

The player had just come into the club before Celtic took on The Rangers at Ibrox, winning 2-0. The Norwegian’s first taste of the fixture could be the cup final.
