Neil Lennon will already have his selection roughly in mind for Sunday’s game against The Rangers but has the international break just thrown the cat among the pigeons?

There’s a young lad at Celtic right now who has found chances few and far between in the last month since Brendan Rodgers departed and has only been called upon as a substitute to this point by the interim Celtic manager.

Timothy Weah had a very positive start to his Celtic loan move before fading away into the background as one of the casualties of Rodgers decision to leave. Neil Lennon hasn’t started with the USA striker but has had the confidence to put him on when Celtic were in need of a goal.

Many, including myself, would have ruled him out of a starting place for the Glasgow Derby, mainly because Weah hasn’t had enough minutes BUT that has all changed during the International break.

The USA under 23’s held the Netherlands to an impressive 0-0 draw in Spain with Weah getting 87minutes for his country. The player looked sharp and got some much needed game time under his belt as he gets set to return to Glasgow.

Could his national team involvement give Neil Lennon food for thought and give the Irishman a curveball to throw come Sunday?

Weah has shown he can be a difference maker but hasn’t had a run of games to show what he can properly do. These kind of games can make a player after all.
