CELTIC were said to be unimpressed with Ireland’s use or lack of use of their defender Liam Scales.

CeltsAreHere.com reached out to sources close to the club who have insisted nobody at Celtic has had dialogue with anyone at the FAI or Stephen Kenny to this point and haven’t expressed an opinion on Liam Scales not getting any game time.

The website is clearly making an assumption due to the reaction online from Celtic fans.

Liam was brought into the Irish setup last minute and did have to make a long haul trip with his country but didn’t feature at all.

It left Celtic supporters wondering why Ireland bothered to call him up. However, from an Ireland and Kenny point of view, they would likely want Liam in to be part of the squad and bond with a view to bedding him in over time.

The Irishman is unlikely to get proper game time with his country until he makes the breakthrough at club level. Since joining at the end of August, Liam has only managed 30 minutes against Raith Rovers in the League Cup.

More game time could be on the way in the coming weeks.

  1. Withdraw ALL Celtic players from their international side. Club before country and any player who doesn’t like it, sell them in January.
