SCOTT BROWN’s Celtic deal runs out at the end of June.

As it stands right now, the Celtic captain has 16 weeks left at the club he’s been at for over 13 years.

There’s no doubt his influence on the field is dwindling for Celtic but does his influence in the dressing room make it a no brainer for Celtic to keep the player at the club a little longer?

Celtic have handed out contracts to players at the end of their time over the years, the most famous one being Paul Lambert who was handed a bumper deal by Martin O’Neill and in the end, Paul was paid a lot by the club to go sit his coaching badges.

There’s no room for charitable contracts, but is there an argument for Scott being the link between the old bhoys and the new signings who come in this summer.

Personally, I would love to see Scott as a coach at the club but that should be down to any new manager who comes in. If the midfielder isn’t ready to hang up his boots just eat then a player/coach deal, even if he takes the younger players on would be beneficial.

Scott is a Celtic legend and there’s part of me who wants to see him stick around and play some sort of a role in Celtic winning the league back next season. Who makes the decision at Celtic over the captain? Will it be Neil Lennon? A new manager, or the new Chief Executive?

However, Scott might want to head somewhere else if he believes he has more game time left in him.
