Chris Sutton delivered another cutting verdict on Rangers after their defeat to Hearts – and the former Celtic FC striker’s timing couldn’t be better with Celtic back in action tomorrow.

Hearts went top of the Scottish Premiership after a 2–0 victory at Ibrox, leaving Russell Martin’s Rangers side sitting 10th. Sutton, never slow to take aim at Ibrox, took to X with a brutal swipe.

He posted:

“Ironic the striker Rangers should have signed a while back puts them to the sword… well played Hearts👏👏 Not dealing with Raskin one way or the other proving costly for Russell Martin… Rangers 10th…”

The message was clear – Rangers’ recruitment failures are coming home to roost, and Hearts are looking much more of a threat to Celtic’s title.

For Celtic, it’s all about tomorrow’s trip to Rugby Park. Brendan Rodgers’ side sit on 10 points and can draw level with Hearts at the top of the table with a win over Kilmarnock. After a turbulent few weeks off the pitch, it’s a chance for Celtic to steady the ship and keep pace at the top.

Watched Sevco’s game…Hearts were really good first half…Fell back a bit in the second…then finished strongly…Their work rate was outstanding the entire game..and they deserved the breaks that came their way…If Mr.Martin survives this …I’ll be very surprised…The hatred projected at him was significant…Long may their misery continue.
