MIKAEL LUSTIG gets it. That’s what you hear from most Celtic fans when speaking fondly of the long-serving right back.

He is just as much a part of the club as the club is a part of him. When he scores, when Celtic win, the passion the Swede displays is off the charts.

He’s not just known for his love of Celtic and his defensive credentials; the player can also treat us to a good laugh on and off the park. From dancing in the gym to wearing a beach ball on his head as he celebrates a goal – Mikael is indeed a unique individual.

This week he took part in an interview in Sweden during the international break where he got on the scoresheet for his country.

During the interview, the Swede was quizzed about Celtic and the rivalry with Rangers*. The defender told how the Glasgow Derby has lost ‘its edge’ because Celtic are so far ahead of their Glasgow rivals.

He was then asked about the fans, living in a city which has both supports prevalent. His answer wins him ‘quote of the wee’ as fas as we’re concerned.
