DARREN O’DEA will be staying with Tommy McIntyre and the B side after the intertest from Ayr United surfaced in December.

On Friday, Ayr United confirmed that Lee Bullen, formerly of Sheffield Wednesday, would take up the managing position.

This is great news for the coaching staff. Darren has been progressing well in a coaching role after receiving a promotion in October from the Under-18s to the B side to be McIntyre’s, right-hand man.

The Sun reported that the Ayrshire side were interested in O’Dea who retired in 2019 but has already gained quality experience with Celtic in his coaching career.

He will have ambitions to progress in his career in the dugout. Whether he stays at Celtic to pursue this or not is up to him. If more opportunities like Ayr Utd arise in the future, Darren may find himself on the move.

The Colts have been a great watch so far this season. They set up in a near-identical way to the first team, playing attacking football with the iconic inverted wing-backs.
