Celtic are waiting to find out this morning if their game against Hibernian can go ahead and if so, how many could be missing.

We understand the travel ban and retrospective isolation period is not the issue and wouldn’t have applied to Celtic because of their elite sports status. However, the positive case inside the Celtic camp has seen significant government intervention in the past 24 hours.

RecordSport are reporting the ScotGov team are now combing through Celtic’s travel plans to Dubai and trying to identify any close contacts from the trip who should also self-isolate.

If this is the case, the game is likely to go ahead but with perhaps diminished numbers.

We can’t really say for sure how badly this will affect Celtic because the club have not released the name of the player who has tested positive.

The trip to Dubai has been a disaster from start to finish and it could further derail our season. An announcement from Celtic or ScotGov should be with us in the next hour or two considering the game is scheduled for an evening kick off tonight.
