Sky Sports are reporting that Celtic are holding talks with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors technical director Ji-Sung Park in London over a deal to bring striker Cho Gue-sung to Parkhead [@AnthonyRJoseph].

The Hoops face competition in pursuit of the South Korean forwards signature but this looks to be a very positive step as they have already outbid Bundesliga side Mainz by making a bid of around £3 million.

MLS side Minnesota United were reported be interested in the 24-year-olds services but he has previously spoken about a desire to play in European football although it has been confirmed that they have come to the table and by reports have offered more money than the Hoops.

Ji-Sung Park had a very successful career at Manchester United and hopefully he can convince Gue-sung a move to Celtic is best.

Gue-sung scored a fantastic 21 goals last season and Ange Postecoglou appears to very keen on bringing the K-League star to Glasgow as it is looking increasingly likely that Greek forward Giorgos Giakoumakis will leave the club this January.

Postecoglou has already added three new additions to his squad during this window as Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata have all arrived and been introduced to the fans.

He will now be hoping that Gue-sung becomes his fourth signing of the window to help bolster the Hoops attack.

  1. I see some idiotic English website referred to Celtic now targetting the ‘Rangers target’. Like they have 4 mill to pay for him. Hope UEFA have their FFP on the case. Have Celtic not been interested in this guy for 2 months. Them since yesterday.
