ARTUR BORUC has played his last game for Legia Warsaw and will leave the club when his contract expires next month.

The Holy Goalie has been ordered to pay a fine to the Polish league for punching an opposition player and attacking TV cameraman; something the player refutes and refuses to pay. It will not make him ineligible to play for any Polish club.

This didn’t stop him from celebrating with the fans. The farewell looked mad.

The Ultras group presented the former Celtic goalie with a commemorative sabre. The sword was waving around in front of the departing player before he got his hands on it.

I think that farewell sums up the Legia Warsaw Ultras fairly well – crazy!

After retiring from international football in 2017, Transfermarkt states that the player will hang up his boots for good in the summer at the age of 42.

He’s had a brilliant career. He’ll always be remembered by Celtic fans for his big saves and his acts with the fans.

After Celtic, the goalie joined Fiorentina before returning to the UK to play for Southhampton and Bournemouth. He then returned to Legia Warsaw, the club he left to join Celtic.

Celtic fans of a certain age will remember the top goalkeeper Artur was and how utterly bonkers he could be.
