BRENDAN RODGERS has confirmed Celtic’s interest in Maryan Shved after reports in Ukraine this morning said the bhoys were in advanced talks to sign the midfielder.
However, the Celtic manager did make sure to tell fans if the club does get the deal over the line, it’s a signing for the developmental squad as they currently have ‘a million wingers’.
Shven looks likely to leave Karpaty this month and Celtic look like the 21-year-old’s most likely destination. The midfielder has scored 8 goals in 17 appearances for his club this season and looks the part if his youtube videos give us a hint into the sort of player he is.
Speaking on the transfer Rodgers confirmed talks were ongoing but pulled back when it was suggested it was a signing for the here and now.
Brendan Rodgers says Celtic have been in contact with Maryan Shved’s reps but if he signs for Celtic it’ll be one for the future: “We’ve got about a million wingers, we don’t need another one”

Celtic are not done yet in this transfer window and should they get this deal over the line, they are still in the market for a right back.
WE need alert back more than we need a right back, if Tierney is out for the rest of the season which I think he will be then we only have Iziguerre not ideal
I looked at videos of him and his goals he looks the part and maybe he will be another top player to come out of the Ukraine and go on to play for a top club…
