Celtic could be heading for another club vs country issue early in the new year after the winter break.

Japan and Asia’s World Cup qualifiers are scheduled to be settled shortly after the winter break has concluded in Scotland leaving Kyogo and Rogic in limbo.

Celtic take on Hearts and Dundee Utd after the January break but might have to do without their top striker for the games alongside Tom who has been influential this season.

Tom has had to head off with Australia in January before – given Celtic are playing catch up now – losing either of them for two games could have a profound effect on our title challenge.

Knowing how Ange operates – he won’t be thinking that far ahead. It will be about finding a way to claw some points back and stay in touch at the top until then.

Celtic have had up and down form so far, the reintroduction to Kyogo after injury has already been a difference maker in the game against Aberdeen. The wee man is proving pivotal.

Kyogo is currently heading back to Glasgow after finishing up this round of international fixtures. The Japanese star part of the team who helped beat Australia on Tuesday.

  1. There is NO dilema – club comes before country each and every time. Both Rogic and Kyogo must remain in Glasgow for the important matches the club requires them for. It is that simple.

  2. Nations have claims on their players for international games in line with FIFA Regs if clubs refuse to release or claim they are injured FIFA can invoke the 5 day rule
