The scatter gun approach taken by the media to try and suss who Celtic are going to sign next can take its toll on supporters. The club continually gets linked with deals, most of which are not based on much at all.
The latest rumour, endorsed by Record Sport, is Celtic are looking to raid Manchester City for new talent.
The paper claims Celtic are interested in 21-year-old forward Lukas Nmecha. The player spent last season on loan to Middlesbrough and has not made any inroads at City.
While we like to keep you up to date with the latest rumours etc, it would be negligent of us to report verbatim without giving our honest opinion.
Celtic have got FOUR strikers on their books already – even though Nmecha can play across a front three, the idea Celtic are looking at the player seems hard to believe.
The club are in talks with a number of strikers and they also have Irish under 21 star of the year, Jonathan Afolabi in their reserves. The reports just don’t make sense.
