CELTIC don’t have their troubles to seek when it comes to injuries. The bhoys in Green have their two top stars out currently along with a whole host of others.

Here’s a rundown of the current injury situation and when there could be some potential returns.

Kyogo Furuhashi

The manager hasn’t ruled the striker out of the cup final at the moment but the Japanese star is a major doubt.

Albian Ajeti

You have to feel a little sorry for Albian Ajeti, the Swiss striker went off injured during the Real Betis game and nobody seems to be asking when he will be back! Ange told Celtsarehere.com Ajeti’s injury is ‘more significant’ than Kyogo’s and he’d be out for some time.

Giorgos Giakoumakis

The Greek striker hasn’t got going at all at Celtic. Injury has plagued his first few months at Celtic and his biggest contribution was a last minute missed penalty against Livingston. The striker was tipped to be back in the squad by nearer the end of December but is also a major doubt for the cup final.

James Forrest

We haven’t seen a proper run of games from James Forrest in 18 months or so, the midfielder keeps picking up injuries. The winger was again subbed off in the game against Motherwell on Sunday and we’re awaiting his prognosis.

Mikey Johnston

The less said about Mikey’s injuries, the better! The winger has been plagued with knocks and bumps since making it to the first team. Ange told us at the weekend they subbed Mikey off during the Motherwell game because he isn’t 100% yet. Had Forrest not gone off injured, he’d have liked to give Mikey the last 20 minutes. He’ll likely make the cup final squad, if not the starting XI.

Jota

Celtic’s star winger has been outstanding, but the player has a hamstring issue that he must overcome. The Portuguese winger has been ruled out of the cup final, Celtic fans are hoping he makes the Glasgow Derby.

Christopher Jullien

The Frenchman is on the verge of a whole year out of the Celtic starting XI after colliding with the post. Since getting onto the grass again at Lennoxtown, the defender has teased a return but Ange Postecoglou isn’t rushing the Frenchman back. We could potentially see the defender AFTER the winter break. An away day against Alloa in the Scottish Cup could be a great jumping off point.

Karamoko Dembele

The wee winger looked like he might get his first team chance with Ange postecoglou in the summer but a horrendous pre-season challenge on the midfielder put stop to that. Dembele has had to go under the knife and is still in recovery. It’s unlikely if we’ve seen the last of the player in a Celtic jersey.
