It is rumoured that on Transfer deadline day a certain phone call was made by Brendan Rodgers at the possibility of bringing Celtic favourite Callum McGregor to Leicester. Apparently, Dermot Desmond insisted on getting back to Rodgers to tell him to take a run and jump.
How much of this is true is anyone’s guess but Celtic have spent the last few weeks nailing down their stars. Last week James Forrest penned a new deal and today everyone will be delighted to learn that McGregor has just signed on for another five years.

McGregor is the first name on a Celtic team sheet for any Celtic manager. It is no surprise that there is interest for him from down South. Celtic fans only learned in the summer that every player has their price as they watched Keiran Tierney leave for Arsenal for a record transfer fee.
If another club is to come sniffing around McGregor again the club have ensured with this latest contract that they will have to pay top dollar. Callum McGregor is here for ten-in-a-row.
