CELTIC are chasing the signing of another World Cup star — this time Ange wants South Korea striker Cho Gue-sung to join the Hoops in Glasgow.

SunSport has revealed the Scottish Champions are keen to bring in her 6ft 2” frontman who Ange has been watching since before he became the manager of Celtic.

The World Cup star netted twice on Monday for South Korea in Qatar.

South Korea FA vice-president Lee Young-pyo claimed there has been a lot of interest in Cho from Europe. It’s now being reported Celtic are one of those teams with the Celtic boss keen to bolster his attacking line in January.

Ange is always moving two or three steps ahead with anything he does at Celtic now. He wants players in to execute specific roles within the group. The Australian also likes them to bed in before he truly gets the best out of new signing. Celtic bought Matt O’Riley in January, and while he played games between Jan and the summer, the manager had an eye on Matt being a first team regular properly this season.

Haksabanovic and Abildgaard signed in the summer and the Australian has spoken about getting the best out of them in the second half of the season.

If Postecoglou truly wants another striker in, it will certainly be with one eye on next season and European football. There are also reports this evening Giakoumakis could be set to leave the club sooner rather than later. [RecordSport] We’ll be covering that story later this evening.
