Celtic’s man of the match Jota looked to be struggling with his ankle towards the end of the game against Raith Rovers on Thursday evening.

The Benfica loan bhoy got Celtic up and running with the first goal of the evening and helped set up the second goal when his shot was knocked into the path of Abada to head it home for a second.

‘I think Jota’s OK,” Ange revealed to The Scotsman.

When it comes to injuries, you can see the Celtic boss is frustrated at this point. “There is something looming over me at the minute, to challenge me every day”

Jota would finish the game as a striker. Giakoumakis injuring himself during the game warming up meant Celtic had little option towards the end of the Cup tie.

The Hoops won at a canter without getting out of second gear. Raith were no match for our quality but we were sloppy at times throughout the game.

Jota and Abada could get a lot of goals for Celtic this term the way Ange has them playing. If we only have one fit striker, like Thursday night, we’re going to rely on them and our midfielders to get among the goals on a regular basis.

The bhoys are through to the semi-final of the League Cup and will play St Johnstone in October for a place in December’s final.
