Celtic are reportedly interested in making Diego Laxalt’s current loan deal a permanent one going forward to next season.

As reported by Sports Witness, the Hoops are supposedly interested in bringing the left-back to Glasgow once again, no matter what the outcome of current boss Neil Lennon’s long term future.

When Laxalt joined the club, he pretty much became a fan’s favourite instantly due to his performance levels in what was a tough spell for the squad with a poor run of results.

Arguably his stand out performance was away in the Europa League against Lille, where he broke Europa League records for the number of tackles he made that night.

If given the choice now, I think a lot of fans would pass on the idea of signing Laxalt due to the drop off in his performances and he has since been replaced by Greg Taylor.

Celtic have a huge rebuild on the way come the summer, so it will be interesting to see if the club does make this deal permanent to try and keep some continuation in the squad with several players set to depart the squad.
