Celtic have knocked back a bid for goalkeeper Fraser Forster today after Premiership side Southampton put in a bid around £7million for the players services.

Frasers future has been subject to heavy speculation since last season and this speculation has only increased since Celtic signed Craig Gordon on a Free.

However he is still a Celtic player at this moment and the club will not let the Englishman go for cheap. £7million may be a lot to a Scottish club but in todays market Fraser can very easily fetch upwards of £10million.

The England international is keen to move on this summer if possible but is also focused on the road ahead with Celtic if the club cannot come to a deal with any interested parties.

Forster has been a fans favourite since joining Celtic, first on loan from Newcastle then permanently. He was nick named ‘La Gran Muralla’ (The Great Wall) by Spanish press after his heroics helped Celtic pick up a famous win against the might of Barcelona a couple of years ago.

The big man will be in goals tonight for Celtic’s Champions league qualifier against Reykjavik at Murrayfield unaffected by any speculation surrounding his future.

Celtic hold a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg and will have to be at the races this evening to make it to the next round.
