Celtic Legend, Packer Bonner, sounded frustrated after Celtic’s 4-0 win against St Mirren midweek.

The former goalkeeper went back to January and bemoaned the senseless lost of points as a result of the Dubai trip and how it extinguished the Hoops season. Bonner points out, had they not taken that ill-fated trip and got points on the board in the aftermath of the defeat to their rivals; they would now be asking questions of their title challenge.

Instead, there’s so much space between the two teams, Celtic winning 6-0 every week would make no difference to the outcome of the league title.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, Bonner said:

“They go out to Dubai and I know were covering old ground here again. And they go out and get three points from three games or whatever. They then threw away three points on the back of that.
“I’ve talked about this many times, if they were able to claw back a couple of those games earlier on against Rangers, then you’re almost asking those questions of Rangers. Can Rangers then be in a position where that pressure might get to them?
“Those are the things that are frustrating. If you’re a Celtic fan, you’re thinking ‘now they’re back to a bit of form, but they’ve thrown away so many points during the critical time around new year’”.

Celtic have finally hit a bit of form. They have won 4-0 twice in the last ten days.

Right now, we can’t even say this is good to build on for the future because many of the players at the club will seek moves away this summer. We don’t know what the squad will look like come August and we really don’t know who will be the manager.
