CELTIC LEGEND Kenny Dalglish has told RecordSport he believes this will be the closest SPFL race in years and that he won’t top Celtic for the title until he sees who else they bring in this summer.

Celtic have won the last eight titles in a row but the narrative pre-season seems to bill Celtics as somehow underdogs.

Dalglish, feeding into this narrative is telling us the Ibrox club have closed the gap without any sort of evidence other than signings made he’s probably not heard of.

Dalglish believes it’s going to go down to the wire but seems to suggest if Celtic don’t bring in some big hitters in the next month the Celtic’s run to ten in a row could come crashing down.

“Honestly, this is the closest one to call yet. I don’t even think the thickness of the page this is written on separates the teams.

“The gap has been closed significantly by Steven Gerrard.

“I’m going to hold off making a prediction until after the transfer window closes. I believe there will be significant business completed at both clubs between now and the beginning of September.”

Celtic kick off their campaign on August 3rd against St Johnstone and will hope to set the standard early in the campaign.

The nucleus of a treble winning side is still there and we have some new lads to freshen up the side.
