BILLY MCNEILL will be recognised for his immense loyalty to Celtic throughout his playing career by becoming the fifth man to receive Athletic Club’s ‘One Club Man Award’.

The award was set up by the Basque club back in 2015 to recognise some of the great ‘one team’ players to ever grace the game.

McNeill will follow recipients such as Carles Puyol, Sepp Maier, Paolo Maldini and Matthew Le Tissier.

The presentation of the trophy will be made in Glasgow by a delegation sent over by Athletic club.

For Celtic fans, Billy McNeill is the ultimate. A man who has truly given his life, heart and soul for the Celtic cause. The one and only Celtic captain to lift the European Cup and the most loyal of servants. A statue of the great man sits at the front of the Celtic Way to immortalise the man.

A whole playing career with the Bhoys and two spells as the Celtic manager has solidified Billy as the best of the best.

The Celtic legend is currently fighting a horrible illness and continues to be in thoughts of Celtic fans who proudly chant at every game ‘There’s only one King Billy. That’s McNeill!’.

God Bless Cesar!
