Based on what we have seen in pre-season, both investments look to be prosperous, but fans are hungry for more signings.
There are several areas in the champions’ squad which need strengthening, the frontline being one. Indeed, the Hoops are a Kyogo Furuhashi injury away from starting Mikey Johnston up top.
Signing two strikers looks likely between now and the end of the window.
With a permanent move for Adam Idah up in the air, some other centre-forwards have been mentioned as potential options for the Hoops, Tommy Conway being one.
The Scotland international looks almost certain to leave Bristol City this summer, with his side’s head coach Liam Manning recently admitting there are ‘bits going on behind the scenes’ regarding a departure.
This set Celtic tongues wagging, but it has now emerged that Middlesbrough are in talks to sign Conway.
According to The Northern Echo, Boro and City remain in discussions over a move for the 21-year-old.
With an agreement not yet reached, though, the Hoops could yet move for a player they were initially linked with back in June.
