Despite securing the SPFL title and a spot in next season’s Champions League, there’s a growing expectation that Celtic’s transfer strategy might lean towards securing first-team-ready players, given that barely any of last summer’s signings played a significant role this season.

Brendan Rodgers is also keen to challenge in the Champions League and to do that he wants to bring in some quality and experienced players.

At just 17 years old, Musibau has been making waves with Dreams FC in the Ghanaian domestic league and the African Confederations Cup, where they reached the semi-finals before being ousted by Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek.

It’s thought that he’d cost Celtic £1.2 million if they do make a move for him this summer.

Celtic have Kyogo and Oh in the striker position, with no decision taken on loanee, Adam Idah’s, future yet.

While Celtic could offer Musibau a pathway into European football, the competition for his signature is stiff, with Aston Villa also reported to be interested. The English club might present a more appealing option given the uncertainties surrounding the competitive level of Scotland’s Lowland League for developing a talent like Musibau.
