CELTIC have been linked to Mohammed Abu Fani as Ange Postecoglou continues his rebuild in Glasgow.
The central midfielder plays in the Israeli top flight, featuring twenty-six times this season, scoring three and assisting four. The 24-year-old has been with the club since 2017, and his latest contract extension sees the international’s contract expire in the summer of 2026.
However, Celtic are not alone in their interest. It’s reported by the Israeli outlet Sport 5 that Celtic will have to shake off competition from Europa League champions Frankfurt, Anderwept and Standard Liege.
His representatives believe that his current club wouldn’t block a move for Fani.
He is aiming to play in a top league in Europe, with Celtic able to offer Champions League group stage football, which could be a big pull for the player.
Celtic has already been linked to countless players this summer, and the transfer window isn’t open yet. Given Celtic’s transfer history, dipping into the Israeli market, this rumour doesn’t seem too far fetched.
What an unfortunate surname.
